Windscreen replacement, calibration-ready.

We replace windscreens, side and rear glass at our Reservoir workshop. If your car has a camera behind the mirror, National ADAS Calibrations recalibrates it on the same site, in the same visit.

Repair or replace?

Can your chip be repaired?

Three quick questions. Most chips can be filled with resin if they're caught early, small and away from the edges. Cracks and anything in the driver's view usually can't.

1/3How big is the damage?
2/3Where is it?
3/3Is there a camera behind your rear-view mirror?

Answer all three questions and your result shows up here.

A guide only. We confirm on inspection.

It's not just glass any more

Your windscreen is a sensor mount.

On most cars built in the last decade, the windscreen holds a forward camera, a rain and light sensor and sometimes a head-up display. The glass has to be the right glass, and the camera has to look through it at exactly the right angle.

That's why a new windscreen and a camera calibration belong in the same visit.

Tap or hover a number to find it on the glass.

  1. Forward camera

Sits behind the mirror and reads lane lines, signs and the vehicles ahead. A new windscreen changes what it sees, so it needs recalibrating.

  2. Rain and light sensor

Reads through the glass to run the auto wipers and headlights. It needs a clean, bubble-free contact with the new windscreen.

  3. Heated wiper zone

Some models have heating elements low on the glass, where the wipers park, so they don't stick on cold mornings.

  4. HUD projection area

Head-up displays need a windscreen with a wedge-shaped layer inside. Standard glass gives a double image.

  5. Acoustic interlayer

A sound-damping film laminated between the two sheets of glass, which cuts road and wind noise.

The job, step by step

What happens when you book in.

  1. Assess and match the glass

We check the damage, the VIN and the fitted options (camera, rain sensor, heating, HUD) so the replacement matches the original.

  2. Remove and prep the frame

The old glass is cut out, the opening is cleaned back to a sound surface and any rust is dealt with before anything goes in.

  3. Prime and bond with urethane

Primer on the glass and the frame, a continuous bead of urethane, and the new windscreen set in one pass.

  4. Cure to a safe drive-away time

Urethane has to cure before it can hold the glass in a crash. The safe time depends on the adhesive and conditions, and we tell you yours before you leave.

  5. Calibrate and hand over the report

If there's a camera, National ADAS Calibrations recalibrates it on site and you get the calibration report.

Glass and calibration, one visit

New windscreen, new camera angle.

Most windscreens built in the last decade carry the car's forward camera. Refit the glass and the camera has moved, even by a fraction of a degree. That's why we book calibration with National ADAS Calibrations in the same visit, rather than sending the car away twice.
